Its scary to start

Love this video from Andrea at the Creative Dream Incubator. The honesty of actually how scary it is to put yourself out there and it not working.

It is really hard to get started as an artist or a creative but you need to start, and do it one step at a time to make it work in the long run. This beginning period needs to be seen as a learning curve. There is no right and wrong here so try not to let your inner critic judge what you are doing and where you are going. It is a scary time but if you see each step as a lesson then you will start to learn how to do this and carve your own path.

In the very beginning

Have you ever had the yearning to just paint? To express yourself;  a calling from deep within, from your soul itself?  Well this is me answering my soul: colour by colour. Layer by layer.  On and on without worrying about the outcome. Just creating for the pure joy-yaaaay!

As another year comes to an end I have been pondering areas of my creativity that I want to improve and expand upon, so I have set myself a sparkly new project!!!! (Yaaaaay!!!) introducing:

PAINTING IS A JOURNEY

"Painting is a Journey" is a year long project on 1 canvas. It's all about freeing up my creativity, loosening up and letting my intuition lead the way. Just to express myself, to get all my creative callings out onto the canvas. The perfect place to experiment, push the boundaries and paint for the joy of painting. I want to practice creating daily, to make it part of my routine. Everyday this year I will work on this canvas. Painting, drawing, collaging, layering. Each days work will follow the last, right over the top of the previous work and I am going to photograph every single step of the way!

I can't wait to get started.....so let's begin!!! :)
